Last time I was here was 4 years ago so it is nice to come back. The whole mountain is not open as there is not enough snow but there is enough snow to make a good park and maintain it through to when Mammoth Mountian closes on the 28th of May.

Super happy to be back on my board and riding in sunny, soft spring conditions. The next three weeks of snowboarding here in Mammoth are going to be all time. I will be putting some photo’s up of my time in Mammoth soon.

Today I spent the day down at Venice Beach, Los Angeles rolling round on my skater. It was so nice to be back by the ocean as it has been a while.Venice Beach skate park is off the hook. It is in such cool location right by the beach and the amount of good skater at the park is ridiculous.

Tomorrow is our last day in Los Angeles before driving up to Mammoth Mountain the following day. Hitting up a theme park tomorrow for our last day in Los Angeles which should be a blast.
We arrived in Las Vegas, Nevada last night dumped our bags in our room at The Venetian, had some dinner and then spent the rest of the night partying and living it up in Vegas.

This morning when we woke up we where not to sure what to do for the day so we decided to check out a pool party. Pool parties in Las Vegas rule! Good music all day, smoking hot babes and ice cold Corona. After a long day at the pool it was time to head back to the hotel room and get ready for the nights activities. Since we are leaving for Los Angeles tomorrow we are heading out to see AVICII tonight who is a Swedish house Dj.

Only five days till I am back snowboarding in Mammoth Mountain. Bring on the shred.

There are so many outdoor activities. Since we have been here we have checked out some rad swimming holes, skated a bunch of new skateparks and enjoyed been tourists.

This morning we woke up at 3.30am and drove 1 1/2 hours to get to the Grand Canyon to watch the sunrise around 5.45 am. After watching the most amazing sunrise we decided to hike some of the Grand Canyon for the rest of the day. Hiking in the heat buggered me but was well worth it. Photo’s from the Grand Canyon HERE.

Heres a few facts a learnt:
*The Grand Canyon is a chasm 277 miles long and 18 miles wide
*The Grand Canyon took 3-6 million years to form.
*No one has ever found fossilized reptile skeleton or bone within the Grand Canyon.

It has been a great season and I am really happy how it turned out especially that my ankle held up and is pain free when riding. As I want to stay over here and spend as much time on snow as I can I am taking a two week road trip through Arizona, Las Vegas and Los Angels to get to Mammoth Mountain,California on the 1st of May. I will spend the month of May snowboarding Mammoth Mountain making the most of the snow before I come home to New Zealand on the 31st of May.

On the long 12 hour drive to Flagstaff, Arizona today we drove through the Moab Desert, Utah which was amazing check some photo’s HERE.

Telluride is about a 5 1/2 hour drive from Breckenridge but it took us a bit longer as we where driving through a heavy snow storm.

We turned up in Telluride pretty late at night and meet up with NZ photographer Tommy Pyatt. Tommy welcomed us in to his house and was an awesome person to hang out with is Telluride as he knew the area really well.

Telluride is a great resort with heaps of steep terrain and tree runs. The timing of our trip bang on as we scored the snow perfect! I diffinantly had one the best powder days I have had in years. Tommy snapped a few photo’s of LPR and myself riding which will hopefully be coming out in the New Zealand magazines this coming season.

Thanks heaps to Tommy Pyatt for having us to stay and shooting photo’s. Next time it snows in Colorado I will be heading back to Telluride!

For more photo’s of Telluride click HERE
